Abstract:   (10 Views)
In the experimental study of aerodynamics of air flow over objects, the wind tunnel is one of the most important laboratory equipment used. In this study, the subsonic wind tunnel of the Islamic Azad University, Parand Branch, whose flow velocity in the test section reaches about 110 m/s, has been investigated in terms of flow quality, turbulence level, and pressure distribution on the nozzle wall, test section, and diffuser before installing the grids in the settling chamber. An 11-branch rake was used to investigate the flow quality, and a single-channel hot-wire anemometer was used to investigate the turbulence level. The results show that the velocity changes are linear with respect to the inverter frequency, and there is a good agreement between the results of the digital manometer and the water manometer. The maximum velocity in the test section at a frequency of 50 Hz of the inverter is 110 m/s. The turbulence level obtained before installing the grids is about 1 percent, and the rate of velocity changes in most areas is less than 0.5 percent.
