Heat transfer fluids such as water, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol play important roles in many industrial applications, but low thermal conductivity is a primary limitation in the development of energy-efficient heat transfer fluids. Therefore a new class of heat transfer fluids can be designed by suspending metallic nanoparticles in conventional heat transfer fluids. Use of metallic nanoparticles with high thermal conductivity will increase the effective thermal conductivity of these types of fluid remarkably. In recent years, nanofluids have attracted more attention for cooling in various industrial applications. Two different types of nano-fluid alumina-water-copper oxide have been investigated. The nanoparticle size is 33 nm and the tests are carried out at ambient temperature. The purpose here is to examine four situations. The first position of the upper part of the chamber is at a constant temperature and heat source in the middle of the chamber. The second position is the right wall of the compartment at constant temperature and the heat source in the middle of the enclosure The third position is the bottom wall of the compartment at a constant temperature and the heat source in the middle of the enclosure. The fourth position of the left wall portion of the compartment is at constant temperature and the heat source in the middle of the enclosure. The length and width of the thermal spring were 0.2 times the width of the compartment. The parameters studied are the effects of power generation or thermal flux (103≥Ra≥105), nanofluid concentration (0.05≥Φ≥0).The results of this study show that an increase in nanoparticle fractions increases Nusselt flux. The results of this study show that an increase in nanoparticle fractions increasesNusseltflux.
